Challenge
The overall challenge or objective of this project was to host AIIHPC’s online Learning Platform in order to provide health and social care professionals, patients and families with access to palliative care information across the island of Ireland.
Problems
- Nowhere to host eLearning content in a dedicated space
- Technical issues such as platform size to host eLearning without Enovation's expertise
- No dedicated person to contact to fix issues if they had arisen
Solutions
- Giving learners a consistent and accessible place to engage with content Enovation supported AIIHPC by creating and hosting a dedicated Moodle learning platform for our eLearning content. Before this, AIIHPC did not have one clear space to host online learning for our members.
The platform allows them to manage users, enrolments and access more easily, while giving learners a consistent and accessible place to engage with content. - Providing ongoing technical support Enovation provide ongoing technical support through a dedicated contact who understands its platform and how they use it. This means that when technical issues or queries arise, they have someone to go to directly for advice and support. Having this dedicated support in place helps resolve issues more quickly and gives AIIHPC confidence that the platform is being properly managed.
Results
Evidence of improvements:
- The face-to-face booking functionality resulted in training costs being reduced by 70%
- 1,500 employees have successfully completed training - an increase of 80% from last year
Conclusion
The support provided by Enovation has made the Learning Platform much easier for AIIHPC to manage. Technical issues are resolved in a timely manner, and when new features or updates are introduced, Enovation have provided dedicated training (where relevant) to help understand and use them more effectively. The platform has been extremely low maintenance on its end, which allows them to focus on developing and sharing learning content rather than managing technical problems. They have also had no complaints from learners about usability, which reflects how accessible and straightforward the platform is to use. Enovation have also supported the client with implementing new versions of Moodle, including making updates available on the UAT site first and then moving them to the live platform within days of its confirmation.
